Non-Profit Abuse?
As much as I hate to draw you away from my previous attempt at humor, there is an interesting story in todays Honolulu newspaper that points out some of the issues I’ve tried to address before.
"The state attorney general is looking into potential abuses at more than 200 nonprofit organizations, with allegations ranging from paying executives excessively high salaries to spending nearly all the money collected on fund-raising costs." (Honolulu Advertiser)
It’s not that I actually expect the state to take any real action, but at least somebody has finally thrown a flag on the play and brought some attention. After all, there are over 5,000 charities and they are only targeting 200… about 4% of them. It would certainly do my heart(?) some good to see some of these abusers get
’d.
