    Happy Birthday United States

Filed under: Crappola — DB @ 12:51 am

A lot of people aren’t proud to be Americans, and that’s really too bad.  It’s easy to complain about conditions, politics, and government while we enjoy the priviledges that allow the freedoms to complain.  The fact remains… it isn’t perfect, any more than any country is, but I still believe that it’s the best there is now.

Nobody gave America our freedoms, they were earned with the blood of our patriots, and by the sweat of our labors.  They were paid for, and are still being paid for with the sacrifices of our soldiers all over the world.

Sometimes we hear criticism from other countries, I guess they tend to forget that Americans have also fought alongside them to help them gain them their own freedoms.

I myself frequently point out the abuses in government and Corporate America… but make no mistake.  I am proud to be an American because it truly is the land of the free and the home of the brave.  Many years ago I stood in uniform and saluted Old Glory, I still get the same lump in my throat when the flag is unfurled.

    Happy Birthday America.
