Checking In
he
spirits at school have not yet succeeded in draining the last remaining vestiges of our sanity. Although B’Tude and I still have one week left (next week is finals), we both have enough built up to carry us through. Right now she’s crashed on the couch with an ear infection, I think forcing her to listen to me read was just too much for her. Actually it was too much for me too.
Having my work printed in a book is a mixed blessing I guess. One the one hand people must have felt like it was worth reading, but then my history instructor wasn’t one of them. If you’ll recall, this particular instructor decided early on that I needed to go back and learn how the big kids do it. Hmmm… maybe I should send her a copy with my love.
I did manage to have some fun last week giving a lecture on the connection between Arthur Miller’s book The Crucible and McCarthism. Ever try to explain and demonstrate to a bunch of kids who can’t even remember that they are Americans, most of the time, something that happened in America long before they were born? Yeah, me to neither. Note to self: change my goal to something besides teaching.
Since she’s too weak to defend herself right now, I have to say that the current couch
has really busted her butt this semester. While my own work load has been pretty tough, hers has been even harder. Taking two science classes (well, I’ll count History in there anyway) is nothing I’d recommend, but as usual she’s still kickin ass and will come out with her high GPA.
Now I need to bust my
to find a job so we can hit the books again next semester. Hmmm… maybe I can count
or coral? On second thought I guess I’d better see if anyone needs a slightly used IT guy with a few miles on him.
I hope everyone is having a great week
In the mean time, I’ll leave you with something to play with. Some of the words above are actually movable. Click and hold on them with your mouse and you can move them around the page.
