About Doyle
Like a lot of kids, I grew up with fairly strict parents and just couldn’t wait to get a job and be out on my own. I started out mowing lawns for a few bucks spending money, spending all day pushing a lawn mower bigger than I was, lol
I started working in a Corporate hamburger joint when I was fifteen in Kansas City, and became the youngest assistant manager in a chain of 21 stores. My first personal experience in Corporate America, after watching my father struggle with working for AT&T all my life. Since then I’ve worked for several of the biggest corporations in the US.
When I entered the Army at 19 during the Vietnam "Police Action", I learned the real power of the press and public opinion. Some of my friends never made it back to get the benefits of that experience.
I have attended school at Kansas University, Colorado TU, and now in Hawaii, as well as several technical schools, learning the IT industry over a period of some thirty years in the industry.
I’ve always been a writer at heart, but unfortunately I could never make any money at it, and money seems to be where we’re at in America. This blog is my way of trying to write something meaningful in the off chance that maybe somebody will read it and get something out of it.
I’ve been shot at and missed, and shit at and hit many times in my life… now I’ve decided that maybe my experience could actually help someone else to avoid the same mistakes I’ve made over the years. So, I’ve decided to return to school for my advanced degree with my goal being to teach. Hopefully I can inflict enough Dubious Wisdom on some of the youth to at least help a few of them deal with life in a good way out in the workplace.
Unless otherwise noted, all articles posted here are based on my own opinions and/or experiences… and yes, examples I use really did happen.
Anyone is welcome to leave comments, but be warned… I don’t deal well with spam or nutcases. I reserve the right to delete stupidity.
